授業の方法 ／Class Format	Lecture
授業の目的 ／Class Purpose	この科目は、ディプロマポリシーの「1.実践的で高度な外国語の運用ができる」、「3.言語の基礎にある多様な社会、文化、歴史、政治、経済などについて幅広い知識や教養を身に付けることができる」ことを目的としている。この授業では、EUに関する歴史、組織、政策に関する知識を習得することをとおして、国家でも国連のような国際機関でもない、「独特な共同体」であるEUの実態を理解することを目的とする。
到　達　目　標 ／Class Objectives	Students can explain the mechanism of the EU. Students can explain the history of the EU. Students can explain the policies of the EU.
授業のキーワード ／Keywords	EU　Politics
授業の進め方 ／Method of Instruction	This class is conducted in Japanese and English. Comment papers (voluntary) in each session could add final marks. Feedback on the comment papers will be given in the next session. Students may be asked questions and to give some ideas during classes. Handouts will be shared on Moodle. However, students will not be able to earn marks on the final exam by just learning from the handouts. Students are expected to reflect what the lecturer emphasises during the classes on the final exam.
履修するにあたって ／Instruction to Students	Students are expected to have some interests in the EU and international politics. Following news in those areas are recommended. The class schedule may be changed depending on students' interests.
授業時間外に必要な学修内容・時間 ／Required Work and Hours outside of the Class	Read the relevant pages of the textbook before (1 hour) and after (0.5 hour) you attend each class.

成績評価方法・基準 ／Grading Method・Criteria	The final exam: 100% (The detailed instructions will be given during the classes.)
