This class (講義) will be taught in English. 
授業の目的
/Class Purpose
This class will focus on American culture through use of a textbook and DVD. Students will be able to travel "virtually" and experience famous landmarks in various parts of the USA. Listening, discussion and reading will all be skills students can improve." This course aims to give students a broad and rich knowledge about culture, society and nature and which will be useful in society.

Students should have a critical understanding of specific Western countries and be able to understand the positives and negatives of each country studied.

Students should expect to do about one hour of reading and vocabulary homework per week, plus one hour of revision and re-reading the assignment before class.

Homework will consist of answering questions in the textbook and presenting those answers in class. There will be a number of short quizzes where students will be able to show what they have learned. There will also be some short written assignments and one or two longer presentations. Feedback will be given according to the effort, presentation skill and usefulness of the information.
