授業の目的
/Class Purpose
この授業ではディプロマポリシーの中でも (1) 実践的で高度な外国語の適用 (2) 言語の基礎にある多様な社会、文化、歴史、政治、経済などについて幅識や教養を身に付けることができる (3) 教養現場で効果な英語に関する体門的知識と指導法を習得することができる ことを目的としている。
In this class, we will learn about issues related to journalism. Students will research and present about one particular issue that affects contemporary journalism. Students will continue to reflect on English journalistic articles of their own choice, while producing original journalistic content of their own. This will include journalistic reports related to events that will be introduced in class.

By taking this class, students will be able to:
1. Increase their proficiency in both receptive and productive skills of the English language.
2. Develop their skills in teamwork as they collaborate with others on creating reports.
3. Learn how to interact in an appropriate way with members of the public.
4. Improve the research skills needed to prepare journalistic articles.

授業の進め方
/Method of Instruction
Students will select an English-language journalistic report each week to read/watch/listen to in English. In a journalism diary, they will summarise the report and reflect on. They will share their summaries and reflections with classmates in class. In addition, students will be involved in a number of projects in class, and will report on these in journalistic ways.
履修するにあたって
/Instruction to Students
Students are expected to actively participate in every class. All discussion will be held in English. Students need to cooperate with each other in order to ensure that tasks are completed on time.
授業時間外に必要な学修内容・時間
/Required Work and Hours outside of the Class
Students will be asked to read content ahead of class. They will also be asked to source their own content to discuss with classmates. They will also be required to work on journalistic projects outside of class time. Students should expect to spend approximately 60 minutes per week to complete this work.
提出課題など
/Quiz,Report,etc
Students will submit their journalism diary at the end of the semester. In addition, they will submit journalistic content to GC square and share it in the seminar's Instagram feed.
成績評価方法・基準
/Grading Method・Criteria
Journalism diary (30%), submitting of journalistic content (60%), participation (10%).
