   In addition to the many educational activities it sponsors, Kobe Gakuin University hosts the performances of many popular cultural artists and professional musicians. The cultural calendar is full of engaging lectures, performances and concerts. These cultural events are very popular with both students and people from the local community. Through these activities, we intend to open the university more and more to the local community.

Saturday Public Lectures Saturday Public Lectures

   A series of lectures is held twice each year, during the spring term (May through June) and during the fall term (October through November). The purpose of these lectures is to announce to the general public the results of research conducted within the university. The goal of these lectures is to raise the overall cultural level of the region.
   We have had “Special Saturday Public Lectures” with themes connected with “Improving Our Lives.” During fall term, the main theme was “Culture and Our Lives.” The lectures were attended by more than 2,500 persons, 250 persons per one lecture on the average.


Academic Lectures

   Kobe Gakuin University and its faculties often sponsor lectures by professors from other universities and other persons who are well known in their fields. The engaging themes often focus on the links between the arts and sciences, and the social sciences and natural sciences. These lectures attract many students and teaching staff every time.


Memorial Hall Green Festival

   Memorial Hall Green Festival has been held annually from April 1988 in commemoration of the completion of the Memorial Hall in Building Number 9. Kobe Gakuin University has on numerous occasions invited cultural artists and professional musicians with an international reputation. The number of performances and concerts reached more than 153 in the autumn of 1999.
   This festival is held twice annually in spring and fall for students and for people in the community. This is highly evaluated by the public on account of the welcome extended to both students and the community outside the university
