The international academic exchange program at Kobe Gakuin University presently covers these five areas:

1 Agreements with foreign universities and educational research institutions aimed at promoting international scholarly, cultural and educational exchanges. 

2 Inviting visiting professors, and visiting research professors from abroad, as well as extending invitations to accept visiting research fellow and visiting scholars from overseas.

3 Programs enabling teaching staff of Kobe Gakuin University to conduct research and teach abroad, as well as programs allowing administrative staff of the university to conduct research or be posted abroad.

4 Overseas study tours and programs for study abroad for students of Kobe Gakuin University.

5 Acceptance of overseas and exchange students from abroad.

   A number of visiting professors are invited to the university every year to teach and to conduct research, providing students with many unique educational opportunities. As of 1999, professors from China, the United States, India, Egypt, Canada, German, United Kingdom, France, Australia, Vietnam, Greek, New Zealand, Mexico, Sweden, Bangladesh, Thailand, Israel, Mongolia and Korea have been invited to Kobe Gakuin University. There is also a visiting research professor program which provides opportunities to outstanding scholars from around the world to come to Kobe Gakuin University to conduct Research. As of 1999, professors from Korea, Brazil, Australia, China, Russia, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Nigeria, Hungary and United States have taken part in this program. In addition, the university runs a visiting research fellowship under which young scholars from the Pacific rim countries are able to conduct research at Kobe Gakuin University. As of 1999, scholars from Bangladesh, Thailand, Cambodia and Mongolia have been invited to the university. Visiting scholar programs made it possible for the university to host scholars from Australia, China, Turkey, Nepal, Philippines, Canada, Brazil and Bangladesh.
