授業の目的
/Class Purpose
この授業ではディプロマポリシーの中でも (1) 実践的で高度な外国語の適用 (2) 言語の基礎にある多様な社会、文化、歴史、政治、経済などについて幅識や教養を身に付けることができる (3) 教養現場で効果な英語に関する体門的知識と指導法を習得することができる ことを目的としている。
In this class, we will learn about journalism. This will involve studying theories of journalism, including newspaper, video, podcast and social media journalism. Students will look at journalistic content on a variety of topics to enhance their understanding. They will then be required to produce their own journalistic content, reporting issues that they determine to be of interest.

/Class Objectives
As lessons will mainly be conducted in English, students will increase their proficiency in the language. Furthermore, they will be able to develop their skills in teamwork as they collaborate with others on creating reports, and learn how to interact in an appropriate way with members of the public.

授業の進め方
/Method of Instruction
In each class, students will be asked to look at one example of journalistic content. They will carry out an analysis of this content and use it to come up with their own ideas of what is required to produce such content. They will then work on their own projects, which will continue over the course of the semester and will involve producing original reports.
履修するにあたって
/Instruction to Students
Students are expected to actively participate in every class. All discussion will be held in English. Students need to cooperate with each other in order to ensure that tasks are completed on time.
授業時間外に必要な学修内容・時間
/Required Work and Hours outside of the Class
Students will be asked to read content ahead of class. They will also be asked to source their own content to discuss with classmates. They will also be required to work on journalistic projects outside of class time. Students should expect to spend approximately 60 minutes per week to complete this work.
提出課題など
/Quiz,Report,etc
Students will be required to submit two pieces of journalistic content during the semester. This must be decided in consultation with the teacher. Feedback will be provided after submitting.
成績評価方法・基準
/Grading Method・Criteria
Weekly discussion and comprehension quizzes (50%), submitting of journalistic content (50%).
